180331_001 For Easter Sunday, the congregation received a visit from Jesus’s disciple, Thomas, in the form of a drama presented by Pastor Jim Stern.
Discussion Questions:
- How do you interpret Thomas’ statement in John 11:16? Was he being sincere or was he being cynical?
- What do you think may have been behind Thomas’ question to Jesus in John 14:5?
- When Thomas declared that unless he saw the marks on his hands and his fingers touched where the nails were, he would not believe that Jesus was alive:
- He thought the others were crazy.
- He wanted to believe, but just couldn’t get his head wrapped around it.
- He couldn’t take another heart-breaking disappointment.
- He needed proof – seeing is believing.
- Why do you think Jesus waited 7 days to appear to Thomas?
- How would you describe the way Jesus dealt with Thomas?
- What did Jesus mean when he said, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
- When Thomas declared, “My Lord and my God”, what do you think he had in mind?
- How do handle doubts about your faith? What kind of evidence do you need to build up your faith?
