February 2nd was a GREAT DAY for the AWANA Sledding Party at Cedar Springs Camp! There were over 60 in attendance!! Some were zooming down the hills and others huddled inside by the fire for games and conversations. Everyone enjoyed an awesome lunch served by camp personnel. The weather cooperated and gave us plenty of snow early in the week and then nice temperatures for sledding! Here are some pictures from that fun day!

AWANA Grand Prix is quickly approaching! Here are a few reminders for parents as they work with their children to complete their race cars. The Grand Prix Will be held on Saturday, March 30th. We hope by having it on Saturday that more people can enjoy this exciting event! The cars were sent home with those who signed up to participate in this event before Christmas. Here are a few reminders as you work to complete your cars:
- The cars have to be turned in by Wednesday, February 27th. That’s six weeks from now! They are to be turned in at the Spark’s check-in table.
- Please do NOT put your child’s name on their car; they need to be anonymous for the Design competition.
- It is helpful if you weight the car, getting it as close to the 5 oz. limit as you can (without going over). We do have weights available, if you need them. We will also have a scale with us; you can use it to check the weight of the car as you are working on it.
Please let us know if you have any questions! We’ve had an awesome response this year, as we have 54 clubbers registered for the Grand Prix!
November 14 was the end of the AWANA Food Drive for the Mitchell County Food Bank. In all, 358 pounds of non-perishable food items were collected. It was the AWANA Boys versus the AWANA girls for collecting and the boys won by a narrow margin! Congratulations kids for collecting food to help others in our community!

AWANA Hayride was held on October 10. We had approximately 150 clubbers, family and leaders participate in this fun night! There were also 25 volunteers helping things run smoothly at Ric and Terri Lancaster’s home. There were even a few rain drops that night but it didn’t dampen the spirits!
